Digital Badges FAQ

What is a digital badge?

A digital badge is a web-enabled version of a certification that can be verified online in real time. The Salvation Army has partnered with Credly to turn your learning achievements into a badge—issued and managed through our official digital badging platform.

What are the benefits of a badge?

Digital badges make it easy to showcase your skills in a trusted, verifiable way. They give peers and employers clear evidence of what you did to earn your credential—and what you’re now equipped to do.

How will I know if I’ve earned a badge?

You’ll receive an email from Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your free account. Once claimed, your badge is yours to keep and can move with you wherever you go.

What can I do with a badge?

Plenty! You can share your badge on LinkedIn, Facebook, your email signature or an online résumé. It’s a great way to highlight your learning and showcase the professional development opportunities available through The Salvation Army—both inside and outside the organization.

Need help sharing your badge on LinkedIn? Check out our video tutorial here.

As you earn additional badges, they’ll be added to your badge wallet in your Credly account. You can easily share a transcript highlighting your accomplishments.

Can someone else copy and use my badge?

No. While a badge may look like a regular image, it's backed by verified data hosted on Credly - making it secure and impossible to falsify.
