World Water Day is celebrated all over the globe and has been bringing awareness to water issues since 1993 by United Nations. This year, the focus is on Water and Energy as they are closely linked to one another. Eight pecent of the worlds energy generation is used for pumping, treating and transporting water.
The Salvation Army has many projects around the world that aid in bringing water to families and communities. These families are not able to wash their dishes or themselves in clean treated water, unable to brush their teeth or quench their thirst. It is through our partnerships that we support these communities internationally with the proper equipment and knowledge so they have accessible water day to day.
