Tribute to A Valiant Warrior

The valiant warrior has laid his sword down he’s gone home to receive the victor’s crown, In joy he has received “a hero’s welcome home” in freedom heaven’s streets of gold he roams.

Today O Lord together our voices we raise to give to You our heartfelt thanksgiving and praise, For the life of your gentle servant today who daily strove to serve You on life’s pathway.

In love he touched so many lives we know encouraging them to love You and like You grow, He was willing the Gospel message to share reaching out to others with compassionate care.

Thank you for the lives he touched along the way the joy he brought by his sweet smile day by day, As we think of him we think of faithfulness by his service of You we have been richly blessed.

Come O Lord of compassionate comforting grace gently hold his loved ones in Your restoring embrace As they walk this lonesome Valley we humbly pray that You will walk beside them each step of the way.

May Your rod and staff comfort them we pray with restorative grace each of them embrace today, Be the sweet balm of Gilead, comforting each heart come Lord Your loving presence to them now impart.

Tracey, Helen and I join in sharing condolence, and while acknowledging Floyd's Promotion to Glory, we know that word cannot truly express either your lose or our feelings of emptiness. We remember our days at London Citadel and recount how Floyd’s Christian commitment influences the youth, teens and young couples in that London fellowship. You were an integral part of that ministry, - Thank-you. We celebrate Floyd’s life and ministry by confirming he was a man who possessed Christian CHARACTER, he CARED compassionately, he worked to be COMPETENT in his endeavorers, he had CONFIDENCE in God’s faithfulness, and his presence exuded a CHARISMA that attracted and encouraged others. We are praying that you will continue to experience the presence, peace and promises of our Heavenly Father during these days of challenge and change. During these times remember the words given by God’s gracious Spirit, Roman’s 8:28 and 37-39 🙏🙏.

Dearest Tracey and family, our hearts are very heavy learning the news of Floyd’s passing after his courageous battle. Forever grateful to have walked a path with you both for several years, inspired completely by Floyd. A man of integrity, vision, caring and love for the Lord and others. He worked wonders to cast light and sponsor a focus and new way forward for the people agenda for TSA in Canada and Bermuda. His legacy will live on. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Floyd was such a front-runner and pioneer in my mind. A true lover of Christ who knew Christ and wanted Him to be made known by all. He will be dearly missed.

Beloved, We are praying for you and family. I met him only once in person last year at the Congress briefly and immediately I felt his love for Jesus and people. I am so grateful for his service to the Salvation Army and keeping the mission of Christ at the center of it. Praying for his beautiful wife and family.

To be honest I can't explain how I feel right now that I'm writing these words, but I feel really sad, at the same time I thank God for having us (my husband and I) with you commission Floyd Tidd, The Lord used you to mark a before and after in our lives. This (explore your call weekend in October 2022), will remain engraved in our lives forever.

I am visualizing you preaching with this passion and love for the gospel! Yes, as you said, "God always calls to busy men and women in the same way as he did to Simon Peter, and responding to God's call is just an act of obedience". I didn't understand it that way until God used you to talk to me. Right now, I wonder what could be more important to do in this dark world than to preach the word of God?

Commission Floyd, I feel sad, but I know that right now you are in our Father's presence. You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith, henceforth the crown of righteousness is reserved for you.
