Spiritual Growth & Development

Disciple-making ministries provide opportunities for those who have placed their trust in Jesus to deepen their faith and closeness in that relationship. Opportunities for spiritual growth and development encourage and facilitate individuals to develop a rhythm of life centred in Jesus, and to be part of intentional and healthy communities of faith and practice, learning and growing together. Discipleship is not a solo journey, but one that is shared with and focused on others.

    Hearing God (Dallas Willard)

How do we hear God's voice? How can we be sure that we think we hear is not our own subconscious? What role does the Bible play? What if what God says to us is not clear?

The key, says best-selling author Dallas Willard, is to focus not so much on individual actions and decisions as on building our personal relationship with our Creator. In this series you and your group can listen in as John Ortberg and Richard Foster dialogue with Dallas Willard on the themes of his beloved classic book, Hearing God.

The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry (John Mark Comer)

We are all busy. Some of us can't remember the last time we rested or even had free time. Our busyness can feel productive but it is a toxic distraction, sapping our spiritual, physical, and emotional vitality. It may seem like we have no choice but to live at a frantic pace, but God has a better path for us.

Join pastor and author John Mark Comer in this five-part series as he addresses one of the greatest threats to our spiritual lives: hurry. Instead of allowing our calendars and screens to control our lives, Jesus offers us a new rhythm of life, overflowing with grace, peace, and beauty.

    The Lectio Course (Pete Greig)

Join Pete Greig, founder of 24-7 Prayer, for The Lectio Course, an absorbing and inspiring five-part series that walks you through the practice of Lectio Divina. Learn the rhythms of reading, meditation, prayer, and contemplation as they apply to the Bible. Hear the astonishing stories of men and women who have encountered Jesus through this ancient yet astoundingly relevant spiritual habit. Discover how to hear God in His Word, so you can be equipped to take His love to the world.

    Be Still (Brian Heasley)

The Be Still Series is a five-week course based on Brian Heasley's book, Be Still: a Simple Guide to Quiet Times that will equip you and your community to learn together how to develop a regular rhythm and deeper daily relationship with God.
In five interactive sessions, with accompanying discussion guides, Brian and friends from the global 24-7 Prayer movement explore some of the creative ways we can connect with God each day, unpacking how to practically develop and grow habits that can cultivate daily stillness in the midst of a busy and fast-paced world.

The Sabbath Practice (JOHN MARK COMER)

Sabbath is a 24-hour time period set aside to stop, rest, delight, and worship. In our era of chronic exhaustion, emotional unhealth, and spiritual stagnation, few things are more necessary than the recovery of this ancient practice.

The Solitude Practice (JOHN MARK COMER)

In an increasingly distracted and noisy world, we need solitude more than ever. The practice of solitude mimics Jesus' rhythm of retreat and return: retreat from people and distractions to be with God, in order to return to community in love and service.

The Fasting Practice (JOHN MARK COMER)

Fasting is one of the most essential and powerful of all the practices of Jesus and, arguably, the single most neglected one in the modern, Western church. The Fasting Practice will train you in this ancient discipline, integrating your whole body into life with God.

The Prayer Practice (JOHN MARK COMER)

Prayer is simply the medium through which we communicate and commune with God. The practice of prayer is learning to set aside dedicated time to intentionally be with God in order to become like him and partner with him in the world.

The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi (KATHIE LEE GIFFORD & RABBI JASON SOBEL)

Are you ready to begin your journey to a deeper faith? In this six-session video Bible study (study guide sold separately), Kathie Lee invites you to join her as she visits sites in Israel that have impacted her life.

The Cost of Control (SHARON HODDE MILLER)

We often claim to have everything under control-whether it's our hectic family schedules, deadlines at work, or unexpected problems that throw us off track-but are we, really? Control can trick us into thinking we can gain comfort, security, and peace through our own efforts.

The Deeply Formed Life (RICH VILLODAS)

Five Transformative Values that Root Us in the Way of Jesus

Following Jesus in our world can be a challenge. Our pace can be too frenetic to be in union with God, and we often don't know how to quiet our hearts and minds to be present with him.
