Here is what we discovered looking at 2020 SAMIS statistics.
70% Recent statistics show that 70% of corps in the Canada and Bermuda Territory conducted virtual Sunday Worship in 2020.
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." Ephesians 6:18
45% of corps conducted VIRTUAL Prayer and Bible Study or Cell Groups.
62% Initiated systems for calling and mailing cards to corps and group members.Finding ways to connect regularly that are not dependent on technology proved successful.
46% Delivered special care and resource packages to members. Sermon door delivery, special packages for Sunday School activities, Mother's Day gifts and more.
37% INCREASE in Pastoral Visitation over last year. COVID brought the need for pastoral ministry to the forefront. Even though in person ministry was limited, new methods were used.
Throughout the pandemic Salvation Army corps have made every effort to connect with members and those in need in the community. Community & Family Services locations with the financial aid of Agriculture Canada record the following:
12,277,156 pounds of food distributed
$709,715 distributed in gift cards
1,168,019 meals served
285,082 households served
30,031 new households served.
