Dear friends,

We greet you in the name of the Lord and continue to count it a privilege to be “partners in the gospel” with you (see Philippians 1:3-5).

With the conclusion of 100 Days of Unceasing Prayer and Shared Scripture quickly approaching, we want to extend a word of appreciation for your commitment to this journey. In our travels across the territory, many have shared their experiences with us, and we have been encouraged by them. More than a thousand people have been sharing in the praises, petitions and intercessory prayers of 100 ministry units from across Canada and Bermuda. Together we have taken them to the throne of grace in prayer and listened carefully for God’s voice as we have read his Word.

As we continue this journey of prayer and shared Scripture, we invite you to communicate your thoughts and reflections on what you have learned so far by answering three questions. Your feedback will be invaluable as we discern together what God has in store for our territory. We believe he will do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20).

Thank you for prayerfully considering your responses as you reflect on what you have read, heard and prayed about in these days.

May God bless you. May God bless his Army. May God bless Canada and Bermuda and bring blessing to the nations through The Salvation Army.

Yours in Christ,

Floyd and Tracey Tidd, Commissioners
Territorial Leaders, Canada and Bermuda

Day 62–March 2, 2020

Unceasing Prayer

Ministry Expression
Cobourg Community Church, Cobourg, Ont.

We have come through a busy Christmas season having received incredible support from our community. The Mobile Community Outreach Program, which is out twice a week, is greatly needed and has drawn community attention to the growing amount of poverty in our area. The increased attention and interest from the community and municipality is a blessing.

Pray for an increase in volunteer availability to run key community ministries. Pray that our current sermon series, “The Power of Surrender,” will encourage people to rely more on the Holy Spirit, in every area of their lives, and that they would see the difference this makes. Pray for a member of our congregation who has been awaiting a liver transplant for a long time, that a living donor will be found, and for healing. Pray for healing for one of our young people who received extensive damage to his arm in a recent accident which has resulted in having no feeling in his hand.

We ask for wisdom for The Salvation Army, Northumberland County, the towns of Cobourg and Port Hope, and our many community partners, to find lasting long-term solutions to the increasing problem of homelessness and lack of affordable housing in our area.

Shared Scripture

Matthew 14:22-36

What “storms” have you faced recently? How did you cope? How did your faith help you deal with any fear or danger? What have you learned to help in future storms?
