The Salvation Army in Yellowknife, under the leadership of Majors Dale and Jo Sobool, directors, Northwest Territories Resource Centre, hosted a three-day emergency and disaster services training event in June. More than 45 delegates from the Army and the City of Yellowknife shared in the seminar, led by Majors Roy and Sandy Langer, divisional emergency and disaster services director and divisional volunteer services secretary, Alberta and Northern Territories Division.

The training focused on the provision of emotional and spiritual care in disasters and the logistics of setting up a reception area for victims during an emergency situation.
