It is my privilege to share with you information regarding international appointments decided by the General.

INTERNATIONAL APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS, AND UPGRADE OF REGION

COMMISSIONERS BARRY AND RAEMOR POBJIE, officers of the Australia Eastern Territory, currently serving respectively as International Secretary for Europe and Zonal Secretary for Women's Ministries – Europe, will farewell from their present appointments on 31 May 2010 and proceed on homeland furlough. Commissioners Barry and Raemor Pobjie will retire from active service on 31 August 2010.

COMMISSIONERS DONALD AND BERIT ØDEGAARD, retired officers of the Norway, Iceland and The Færoes Territory, are appointed to International Headquarters from 1 June 2010 for the next five months. Commissioner Donald Ødegaard is appointed as acting International Secretary for Europe, and Commissioner Berit Ødegaard as acting Zonal Secretary for Women's Ministries – Europe.

EFFECTIVE 1 APRIL 2010

RWANDA AND BURUNDI – Following consultation with the International Management Council, the General has decided that, with effect on and from 1 April 2010, the Rwanda and Burundi Region will be granted command status and be known as the Rwanda and Burundi Command.

Majors Stephen and Grace Chepkurui will take respectively the designations Officer Commanding and Command President of Women's Ministries.

Captains Jean and Elianese Clenat will take respectively the designations General Secretary and Command Secretary for Women's Ministries.

EFFECTIVE 1 JULY 2010

COMMISSIONERS JAMES AND CAROLYN KNAGGS, officers of the USA Eastern Territory, currently serving as territorial leaders of the Australia Southern Territory, are appointed as territorial leaders of the USA Western Territory. Commissioner James Knaggs is appointed as Territorial Commander, USA Western Territory, and Commissioner Carolyn Knaggs as Territorial President of Women's Ministries. They will succeed Commissioners Philip and Patricia Swyers who will be retiring from active service.

COLONELS RAYMOND AND AYLENE FINGER, officers of the Australia Southern Territory currently serving respectively as Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women's Ministries in that territory, are appointed as territorial leaders of the Australia Southern Territory. Colonel Raymond Finger is appointed as Territorial Commander, Australia Southern Territory, and Colonel Aylene Finger as Territorial President of Women's Ministries. They are promoted to the rank of commissioner on 1 and 2 July respectively.

LT. COLONELS PETER AND JENNIFER WALKER, officers of the Australia Southern Territory currently serving respectively as Secretary for Business Administration and Assistant Territorial Secretary for Women's Ministries in that territory, are appointed respectively as Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women's Ministries, Australia Southern Territory. They will take up their new appointments with the rank of colonel.

EFFECTIVE 1 AUGUST 2010

COLONELS OSCAR AND ANA ROSA SANCHEZ, officers of the South America West Territory currently serving as territorial leaders of the Latin America North Territory, are appointed as territorial leaders of the Brazil Territory. Colonel Oscar Sanchez is appointed as Territorial Commander, Brazil Territory, and Colonel Ana Rosa Sanchez as Territorial President of Women's Ministries. They are promoted to the rank of commissioner on 3 and 4 August respectively. They will succeed Commissioners Peder and Janet Refstie who will be retiring from active service.

LT. COLONELS TITO AND MARTHA PAREDES, officers of the South America West Territory currently serving respectively as Assistant Chief Secretary and Hispanic Ministries Director in the USA Eastern Territory, are appointed to be the territorial leaders in the Latin America North Territory. Lt. Colonel Tito Paredes is appointed as Territorial Commander, Latin America North Territory, and Lt. Colonel Martha Paredes as Territorial President of Women's Ministries. They will take up their new appointments with the rank of colonel.
