General-Elect to be Announced

The official announcement of the General-elect will be made on January 31, 2011

A live webcast of the announcement will be available at around 15:30 GMT. This will be available on the High Council website at http://bit.ly/GenEl or via http://bit.ly/f3Lb5y and will be followed by a short speech from the commissioner  who will become The Salvation Army's nineteenth General on 2 April this year.

For those unable to watch live, a recording of the announcement - to include additional footage - will be available later today. A  news report and biography of the General-elect will also be published shortly.

Please uphold the General-elect and their family in your prayers at this time.
