Unceasing Prayer

Praise
In every interaction with members of the community and our clients, our staff, who support our mission, are agents of God’s grace. In a recent survey, many clients leaving our residential program stated that the way they were treated had a direct impact on their adjustment to the community and helped them complete the program. One client thanked staff for all the supportive conversations and practical help he had received. He said that the way he was treated helped him gain the confidence he needed to make a change in his life. He now has a job and has saved for a place of his own. Even though he knows he made a terrible mistake, he can see hope for a future and can leave the past behind him. When we treat clients with dignity, they begin to see themselves as productive members of the community.
Petition
Pray for the protection of New Directions, its staff and partners in correctional services who support The Salvation Army in this work.
Intercession
Pray on behalf of our downtown community, where the needs for housing and addiction support are great. May we at New Directions continue to seek opportunities to work with our neighbours, to be bearers of hope and agents of change.

Reflect
Peter had to overcome prejudice in order to welcome Cornelius. Are there prejudices (perhaps unintentional) that exclude people from your church fellowship?
