Praise
We praise God that our Monday night Kidz Klub is flourishing and developing. Our new monthly Café Church is going well, with a significant increase in attendance compared to a “traditional” Sunday evening service. We are also grateful for the general signs of spiritual growth and renewal within our congregation. There is a renewed focus on outreach, prayer and Bible study, and the exercising of our spiritual gifts. There is a great sense of expectation and excitement for the future and a new openness to try innovative approaches as we attempt to discern the “new thing” God wants to do in and through us.
Petition
A significant property expense has impacted our financial position. Our people have made a significant effort to replenish our building fund, but it is going to take a long time. Pray that God will help us be wise with the resources we have and help us attract new people to bring fresh financial resources. Pray for us as build a fresh, strong, committed leadership team to lead our corps into the future that God has for us. Pray for open, willing hearts among our people and for the spirit of discernment as we figure out who God wants in each role.
Intercession
As with most other cities, there is a huge number of hurting, broken people in Corner Brook. Pray for seniors who “hang out” at the mall because they can’t afford to heat their homes each day. Pray for people trapped in poverty, especially children suffering from food insecurity. Pray for addicts and people experiencing homelessness as they sometimes wander our streets. Pray for the soup kitchen, thrift store and community and family services office run by Corner Brook Temple (supported by people from Corner Brook Citadel) that meet needs in Christ’s name. Pray for the nominal Christians in our city, those who identify as Christian but whose actions indicate they are far from God.

Reflect
Paul “saw the light” about Jesus. How did you “see the light” about him? What changes did it make? Do you think there is one special way everyone comes to Jesus? Why?
